The Shorthorn division in beef cattle are no longer on probation. Head requirements were met in 2022.
The Hampshire breed in the Swine division is on probation. The breed has not met the head requirement of ten (10) since 2021. It is at risk of being dropped into AOB in 2024.
There will no longer be a Junior Market Hog Show at the Ozark Empire Fair. If you have market hogs to show, you are encouraged to show at the Gold Buckle Extravaganza as a junior exhibitor. There will be an Open Barrow Show following the Open Breeding Show.
There will no longer be a commercial breeding division in the open swine show. However, there will still be a commercial breeding division in the junior swine show.
A commercial female division will be added to the beef cattle, sheep and boer goats junior show. Please refer to your species' handbook to see when and how the show will go.
ALL entries will be made through our online portal ShoWorks. No paper or mail in entries will be accepted.
Reminders:
To be considered a Junior exhibitor you must be at least 8 years of age by January 1st and no older that 21 years of age by January 1st, 2023.
There are no complimentary tickets. You must purchase your tickets, either with your entry forms or when you are entering the show at the gate.
Gold Buckle Gala Sale dress code has been changed: (no sweater vest)
EXHIBITOR DRESS: Black jeans; white, collared, long-sleeve shirt; and black show harness. Tie is optional. Only western boots or dark leather shoes allowed. No hats or caps allowed.
